Education & Outreach

Our Centre is committed to the creation of records of as many languages as possible. We recognise that using the best techniques to record, transcribe and present these records requires training that we provide regularly as you will find on the Upcoming Events section of this website and via our regular Summer School program.

We offer courses in the use of audio and video recording, Elan, and Fieldworks, and the general workflow that links these together.

If you would like to have a training session in any of these tools and methods or others that are used in any part of the Centre's activities please get in touch with us to make arrangements (

Centre members are sharing the fruits of their research in regular public events. These include annual public lectures as well as small workshops held with speakers of rare languages in Australia and the Pacific.

This year we are proudly supporting the Australian Computational and Linguistics Olympiad (OZCLO), the UNESCO Australian Memory of the World program and the Third Symposium on Bilingualism and Intercultural Communication.

Please get in touch with us at if you would like to propose a collaboration.
